
Supplier Qualification
Only approved suppliers that meet quality standards are chosen. These suppliers must
provide media that meet lab specifications and are accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis
(CoA).
Inspection Upon Arrival
Upon receiving the media, lab personnel conduct a visual inspection. This includes checking
the packaging for any signs of damage, contamination, or tampering.
Storage Conditions
Media are stored according to the required conditions (e.g., temperature, humidity) to
maintain their integrity. Certain media may require refrigeration, while others need to be kept
in a dry place.
Batch Documentations
The batch number, expiry date, and CoA are recorded in the lab’s inventory system to ensure
traceability and compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Quality Testing
Before use, Growth promotion testing on the media to verify its effectiveness and ensure that
it supports microbial growth as expected.
Usage Tracking
The media is used according to first-in, first-out (FIFO) practices to prevent expiration issues,
and usage is carefully tracked for audits and regulatory compliance.
Every month, check media stocks.
