His career in the pharmaceutical industry began in 2018 at Recipharm, where he started his journey in the Quality Control Microbiology department. After around three years at Recipharm, Vijaykumar moved to Zuventus Healthcare, progressing into a Senior Officer role in QC Microbiology. Working with a smaller team gave him the opportunity to take on more responsibilities, train new analysts, solve practical laboratory challenges, and develop a deeper understanding of microbiology operations and quality systems.

During this period, he also started sharing his professional knowledge on LinkedIn. What began as simple educational posts gradually became a larger learning community. His consistency and practical approach to content creation helped him build a community of more than 30,000 LinkedIn followers.

One of his notable initiatives was “100 Microbiology Interview Questions in 100 Days,” where he shared interview-focused microbiology knowledge to help students, freshers, and working professionals prepare for their careers. His goal has always been to make technical knowledge easier to understand and accessible to people who are beginning their journey in the pharmaceutical industry.

After Zuventus, Vijaykumar joined Althera, where he gained valuable experience in a new laboratory environment. He was involved in establishing and developing microbiology laboratory activities, including equipment qualification, SOP development, laboratory processes, environmental monitoring, pharmaceutical water systems, deviations, investigations, and quality documentation. This experience strengthened his understanding of how a microbiology laboratory operates from the ground up.

After gaining further industry experience, Vijaykumar made another major step in his career by moving to Ireland. The transition was not easy. Moving to a new country, adapting to a different working environment, and building a career again required patience, consistency, and determination. His journey eventually led him to Lilly Ireland, where he continues to work in QC Microbiology and further develop his pharmaceutical industry knowledge.

Alongside his professional career, Vijaykumar continues to create educational content and support people who want to build careers in pharmaceutical microbiology. Microbiologist and scientific content creator with practical experience in pharmaceutical quality control, industrial microbiology, upstream bioprocessing, and laboratory testing. He has gained hands-on exposure to Medical Microbiology and Molecular Biology techniques through his internship at Alpha Labs and technical workshops. He previously worked in the R&D Upstream Department at Bycus Therapeutics Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad, where he was involved in fermentor operations and upstream processing. Currently, he works as a QC Microbiologist at Startech Labs Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad, a NABL-accredited laboratory, where he processes pharmaceutical samples, performs microbiological analysis, and releases results to customers. He also holds Advanced HACCP and Food Safety certifications.
